How to Design Tattoos of Crosses

Designing tattoos of crosses doesn’t require a whole lot of creative skills, but can take a lot of time to design when you want the perfect tattoo. Most cross tattoos are religious symbols, frequently used to commemorate the memory of a close friend or loved one who has passed on. A general design is a basic cross with the person’s name tattooed within it. You could also include the person’s year of birth and year of death.

One of the nicest, yet simplest, cross tattoo designs is a simple cross with angel wings attached to the back. It’s beautiful and simple all at the same time. These designs are generally located on the lower back for women, and between the shoulders of men.

Another one you could get is a Celtic cross. Originally from Ireland, this is also used as a Christian symbol as well. These can be located on your back, ankle or wrist. Some women have it tattooed around the navel. When getting this tattoo, if you are of Irish descent, it is customary to also get your family name tattooed inside of it as well.

Cross tattoos have a lot of different symbolisms, mostly dedicated to religious aspects. Whether celebrating the life or death of someone close or just showing how proud you are of your faith, it’s become a popular tattoo to get. A lot of men have miniature crosses tattooed to their fingers, and some include the letters WWJD, standing for “What would Jesus Do?”
